IV (Intravenous Infusion) and IM (Instramuscular) Therapy is the process of administering nutrients and Vitamins through the vein directly to the blood stream. IV Therapy allows a higher concentration of nutrients to enter the blood stream in a short period of time versus taking supplements orally.
Intravenous and intramuscular supplement injections are supported by knowledge and by research data however are not on the ARTG and considered experimental by the TGA please view the TGA website for more information. Intravenous and intramuscular supplement injections are considered safe, are widely and successfully used by Integrative Medical practitioners in centres across Australia and overseas. Intravenous and intramuscular supplement injections may be considered to sit outside the parameters of conventional medicine in Australia. All nutrients administered are made in a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) audited pharmaceutical facility under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and may be administered intravenously or intramuscularly.
Risks and Complications
With every treatment there are risks involved. It is important that you understand the risks prior to undergoing treatment. Ensuring you provide a full medical history can reduce these risks but even so there may be unforeseen risks that are presented. If you have any concerns regarding these risks, do not hesitate to contact your Healthcare Professional.
Risks include: Headache, bruising, swelling, rashes, flu like symptoms, detoxthirst, light headedness, phlebitis, extraversion, infiltration, infection, fluid overload, speed shock, anaphylaxis, kidney or liver damage, breakdown of red blood cells, cardiac arrest, death, air embolism, sensitivity, electrolyte imbalance, nausea, vomiting, please talk with your healthcare professional about all risks specific to you.
You may discuss any concerns you have with a health practitioner in order to provide you with sufficient information to make an informed decision. You can ask questions at any time about your treatment, and you are free to discuss this treatment with any other healthcare practitioner you are consulting with. Hydralyfe and Drip Hydration reserves the right for our medical staff to communicate with any of your treating medical practitioners as part of our duty of care and with memebers of our internal and partnership teams. Your medical records will be shared across all clinic locations and stored on an electronic cloud-based storage system which may or may not be located in Australia and you give consent for this to occur.
Note that photos of the injection/insertion sites may be taken as part of your clinical record.

- I understand that I can withdraw my consent at any time.
- During the treatment, despite all the precautionary measures made by the Healthcare professional injury is possible. I will not hold the Healthcare Professional performing this service on me responsible in any issues that may arise due of having the procedure performed on me.
- I understand a Needle and Cannula will need to be inserted into my skin to gain access to the vein or muscle by the Healthcare Professional. My Healthcare Professional will have full competency in inserting a Cannula, removing a Cannula, monitoring and caring for the Cannula and administering Intravenous vitamins, minerals and/or medications.
- I consent to the insertion of a peripheral intravenous catheter (Cannula) and to the infusion of fluids, vitamins, mineral and/or medications. I agree and acknowledge that no promises or guarantees were made regarding the efficacy of the infusion.
- I understand that there are risks associated IV Therapy, if any sort of reaction occurs I will seek medical attention and inform my Healthcare Professional.
- It is my responsibility to advise the Healthcare Professional of any concerns I may have before the procedure.
- I understand and agree to the aftercare instructions provided by the Healthcare Professional. By not following the aftercare instructions I am aware that the desired results may not be achieved.
- HyDRalyfe and Drip Hydration will not be held liable for and damages caused to me or my skin by any reason, including allergic reaction, skin sensitivity, health care professionals technique or protocol and failure to follow the after care instructions.
- I have declared all relevant history, and if any changes occur in the future I will notify my Healthcare Professional. .
Cancellation policy
The cost of your consultation is additional to the therapies and must be renewed every 6-12 months. Full payment is due on the day of treatment. No part of the treatment (including consultation with our prescribing doctor) is covered by Medicare.
I understand that, except in emergencies, I must give 24 hours' notice of intent to cancel or reschedule my appointment or I will incur the full fee for treatment.
